HISTORY OF AAZHIMALA SHIVA TEMPLE
The Aazhimala Temple's history and beginnings date back more than a century. Aaazhimala Pulinkudi Sree Mahadeva Temple was the temple's original name. Pullikudi was named for the presence of cheetahs in that region years ago. Over time, it evolved into Pullingudi. "Kudi" implies "home" or "living space."
This ancient location served as one of the disguised Pandavas' hiding places. There are still natural caverns between the rocks. The fact that Bheemasena had to use his knee to drill a hole in the rock and fill it with water to assuage Panchalis's thirst is a reminder of the past.

OUR ASPECTS
The beach of Kanyakumari may be seen from Kullakadavu, which is located east of the Aazhimala Temple. This stream always flows in the same volume during both summer and wet seasons, regardless of weather variations. Up until recently, the water was utilised for Nithyapujas in temples and is thought to have therapeutic properties to treat a variety of illnesses. It is discovered to be crystal clear and tastes distinct. Thus, this holy site is a hub for blissful devotion because of the benefits of Sri Mahadeva, its natural beauty, the presence of great saints, and its distinctive lustre of heavenliness.
